Cheap Flights from UK to Sarajevo

Compared to many other Eastern Europe’s capitals, Sarajevo is highly isolated in term of the numbers of affordable flights in and out of Sarajevo. SkyEurope, Germanwings, EasyJets or Ryanair to name a few cover an impressive list of European cities. But Sarajevo and its ex-Yugoslav sister cities in Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro still remain in oblivion.

Less accessible from Europe, Sarajevo is probably less accessible from America. Normally, American travelers are recommended to fly to UK and then connect to their final destination in Eastern Europe. Without any budget airlines flying from UK to Sarajevo, these following travel companies are the best (many cases) alternatives.

A sample round trip ticket with Jat Airway and Austrian Airlines from the 10th and 17th of November between Edinburgh or Glasgow and Saraejvo costs around 290 GBP including taxes and booking fees while route London-Sarajevo is 100 GBP cheaper.

As for accommodation, you can find last minute hotels with Cheaperthanhotelsfrom 10 GBP in London, 15 GBP in Edinburgh and 32 GBP in Glasgow.

Central Europe Capitals

Life in the capital city, especially when that city is in Europe is
grant. Before I had Sarajevo, and now I have Prague. Three weeks ago,
I became a legitimate resident of Prague, capital of the Czech
Republic. Like Bosnia, Czech identifies by its Slavic root. However,
while Bosnia in later time was greatly influenced by the Muslim Turks,
Czech continued with its traditions and idealism brought by its
Germanic neighbors.

Berlin and Vienna, the historical and
modern capitals of Czech’s two Germanic neighbors, Germany and Austria
are only 5 to 6 hours drive and 2-hour fly from Prague. When you
connect Berlin, Prague and Vienna, you will end up with a straight line
with Prague as the midpoint. (See [pix])

I visited Vienna three times but never really “saw” the city since in
all three occasions I ended up wandering about at Sud Banhoff where I
got hit on by an Egyptian masseur and an Austrian station employee who
offered me free massage and beer followed by an “indecent proposal.”

I’ve
never set foot in Berlin but soon I will for I have a strange
fascination by historical Eastern European events and sites. The
collapse of the symbolic Berlin Wall inspired world-famous German rock
band Scorpions to write their classic hit “Winds of Change,” a song I
I used to play non-stop during my childhood.

Traveling among
Vienna, Berlin and Prague are easy. International and domestic buses,
trains and flights are affordable–sometime very cheap. Budget Airlines
covering these three countries are Germanwings, SkyEurope and Air
Berlin. Lufthansa and Austrian airlines are worth a check; they are
major airlines and cost more than smaller air carriers, but if you book
in advance, you might find decent deals.

You can sweat over
many thing but don’t burden yourself with the thought of being a
homeless in these three major capitals. If you book ahead, you can find
a hostel bed for as low as 10 EUR. Visit hotels in Berlin for more detail. Vienna hostels charge about the same prices; however, if you desire the comfort in a 3-star hotels in Vienna, you can get one for as low as 39 EUR.

Sydney is considered as the No 1 city of Australia, based on its population, its importance in Australia’s politics and economy, as well as all the funs and noises. It boasts beautiful sceneries, the
Opera House, Darling Harbour Bridge, the romantic setting of the Darling Harbour itself, plus all the famous beaches like Manly, Bondi. The city of Sydney it self is a heaven on earth for many. To shopping enthusiast, there are many stores around. The price range could be anything depends on where you decide to pop in. You can find last-minute deals for hotel in Sydney for as low as 40 AUD. Most of the year, the city is with pleasant and warm weather. Get around the city is a piece of cake, since the network of
train, bus, ferry here is quite marvelous.Melbourne is the 2nd most important city of Australia.To many, Melbourne is a better place to unwind, because of its peaceful spread-out setting, with fewer people, less noise, bigger streets and fresher air. Get around Melbourne is easy, with its system of train, bus, tram service, which use the same ticket, or one could just take a pleasant walk to get around to all the interesting place: Southgates; Federation Square; Art Gallery; Rialto Towers and Collins-Burke-Elizabeth-Swanton Streets, where many stores and restaurants line up). Melbourne is also famous for its many “international” restaurants, where you can eat the best food for a very reasonable price. Everything seems to be cheaper in Melbourne,from eating out to the price of groceries! However, I found it very interesting that the lowest price I find for a 3-star hotel in Melbourne starts from 50 AUD.

Brisbane may be considered as the third “biggest” city of Australia; however to surfers and warm climate lovers, Brisbane is the best. Here, you can walk along the beach, enjoy the sea in their own way, then later relaxing at any close by restaurants. Big and small stores are around too, so you can just hop in to buy anything one required, be it groceries or expensive party outfits. However, hotel in Brisbane can be a little bit more expensive than Sydney and Melbourne, perhaps due to more competition in these sister cities.

Accommodations and hotels can be booked quite easily, provided you have their phone numbers and your own credit card details ready.

I am not very good at organizing trips; many times I travel to a place without much planning. Thus, I have learned to rely on travel blogs and forums where travelers leave their scoops on their latest adventures.

Real Travel is such travel blog, part of a large travel portal covering world wide destination and various activities. It has very cool trip planner which you build and share your itinerary. However, the coolest part is the blog where planner hoppers from many corner of the world share their photos and stories.

Real Travel has a fairly detailed section about Bosnia, a useful itinerary along the Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast and also reviews of other cities in this Balkan region.

I am introducing Easytobook.com, a hotel booking site for Amsterdam and Barcelona. Pretty much, the site’s design and functionality are the similar to any other hotel booking site you might have visited. I totally dig one feature which let me search for hotels with WIFI internet access beside other common requests such as disable-friendliness, free parking, children discount and pet allowance. I have countless of experiences when after finding accommodate I like, I had to call up these hotel and ask if they have WIFI service. Most of the time, they did not, thus wasting my time and money for the calls. The latter four are not applicable to me, but other travelers might find them useful.

If you have in mind a particular location or an attraction in Amsterdam, you can search for hotels near that location. Click on Amsterdam tourist attractions, choose the sight of your choice and hit the search button. You will see a map pinned with hotels surround your select location and a list of nearby hotels, sorted by their distance.

However, as a budget traveler, I always look for the cheapest hotel, so naturally I want to be able to sort hotels based on their prices, a functionality not available at Easytobook.com. Other than that, this site is worth a visit the next time you want to find a room in Amsterdam
