    Regarding your subscription problem: I am not sure how your blog server works, but on blogger, one e-mail address can be assigned to receive notification when the blog is updated. Instead of using an e-mail address, you can use a distribution list, like with http://groups.google.com/. Then, you can either direct people to subscribe to the group, or collect the addresses as a dialog on your blog and add them to the subscription manually. A relatively “low tech” solution.
